The parameters of my search was based on my decision to downsize. My daughter wanted to attend North Toronto Collegiate and the relentless winter of 2013-2014 helped to convince me that caring for a 2800 sq ft detached home, was more than I wanted at this stage of my life.
I work downtown and the location of Yonge & Eglinton seemed perfect for our needs going forward. May plan was to be walking distance from the subway and the high school. I wanted 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms with a good layout and the square footage to be more than 1200. I asked that the price range to be in the ball park that would allow me to realize a bit of a nest egg from the sale of my home. My daughter swims competitively and her one desire was to have a pool.
Shawn contacted me through email, as part of the Elli Davis team, at the time that I listed my house with Royal LePage. He immediately started sending me daily updates of properties that fit my search criteria, and I found this a very helpful way to quickly get caught up on the activity in the condo market. I was very fortunate to sell my home in 4 days but felt a little panicked because I hadn’t actually booked any viewings with Shawn or stepped foot in a condo yet!
The fear of homelessness kicked in and I called Shawn who quickly arranged 6 viewings in the building I was most interested in from the listings previously sent to me. I found a condo and bought within 7 days. My condo fit my parameters perfectly with a view to boot! I was extremely pleased with Shawn’s professionalism, knowledge of the real estate industry, punctuality and his reachability were exemplary. I truly felt that I had an agent who understood my needs and was really working for me.
